[INSTALLATION] Insert the USB adapter to the computer, Windows will sense this and ask for a driver. Select a: or select driverpath if located elsewhere and press NEXT. Windows starts install the USB driver. After this Windows will find and display a new screen asking for the serial port driver. Just repeat the procedure above and Windows will install it. Press Finish and installation is done ! [NOTES] This driver is Plug´n play configured wich means that it will install itself as nearest available comport number. To see wich number you can rightclick on "My Computer" icon and select properties in the popupscreen. In Win98 choose "Device manager", and in win2k click on HARDWARE tab and then on DEVICE MANAGER button.Doubleclick on ports i the listbox. Now you can see wich number "Autocom USB to RS232 serial adapter" have, usually (com3,Com4, com6 etc..). It is also possible to change this number by double click on it and select "Port settings" and then click on the "Advanced"- button and select com-number with the dropdownlist. [FAQ] Q: Windows (XP) warns me about the driver is not signed. And there can be compatibility problems? A: Just click continue anyway. This warning is displayed due to the fact that we have modified som files to improve communication. [KNOWN ISSUES] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ There is a bug in the driver that will give wrong baudrates when changing com.number in the device manager. If this problem occur just uninstall the driver with Add/Remove programs and connect the tester and install the driver again NOTE... This is done by open the Control Panel and starting Add/Remove programs. In that window you will find "FTDI USB serial converters drivers".
